On View: May 30 - August 22, 2024
Artist's Lecture:
Tuesday, June 25 at 7pm

The David Brower Center is pleased to welcome the California Forest Project by local photographer Stefan Thuilot to the Hazel Wolf Gallery. This immersive exhibition celebrates the abundant biodiversity of our state’s forest ecosystems. From towering redwoods to rolling hills with Oak and Madrone trees, this collection showcases the range of California's wooded landscapes at a massive scale. Hundreds of individual photos make up these high-resolution composites, which are printed at up to 13 feet tall!

California is renowned as an unrivaled biodiversity hotspot in the United States, with numerous forests and trees that stand out globally for their size, age, height, and variety. The California Forest Project's primary aim is to provide comprehensive coverage of the diverse range of forests.

Join us on Tuesday, June 25 from 7pm - 8:30pm for a lecture by the artist about his ongoing work on this multi-year project, and how the photos are being used to support conservation and research efforts. Doors open at 6:30pm. Advance registration is recommended, as space is limited—RSVP here.
