2020 Call to Artists

Art/Act: Local – Wild Places is the David Brower Center’s annual juried exhibition of works by San Francisco Bay Area artists. Jurors will select four artists based on their current body of work, and the Center’s curators will then work with artists to develop the final exhibition, which will include at least one new work per artist inspired by or addressing what it means to protect our wild places. Art/Act: Local – Wild Places will examine the importance of connecting people to wilderness, whether it be a National Park or a community garden, in order for them to more fully appreciate, understand, and ultimately protect our natural environment.

Participating artists will be offered a $1000 honorarium towards the creation of one new work.

Please note that artists must live in one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s nine counties. The submission deadline is November 15, 2019 at 10:59 PM Pacific Standard Time.
